29 Feb Your Present, The Holy Spirit’s Past

Many of this blog's readers only know me by my weekly blog postings, from hearing me speak at our Ignite the Supernatural Conferences, and/or hearing me preach in a local church service. But, there's another side of me that you don't know about. I love practical jokes. Here's a great example. Several years ago while we were still living in South Florida, Vickie flew to Texas for a few days so that she could attend a family member's wedding. My parents picked up Vickie at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport and took her to their home for a nice quiet night before the wedding festivities kicked in the next morning. Me being in Florida and Vickie being in Texas provided the perfect set-up for a great practical joke. Here's what happened ...

22 Feb How to Have a Hulk Hogan Spirit Man

Are you looking for an excellent way to illustrate the value of praying daily in the Spirit? For this illustration, you will need barbells or dumbbells. We all know the value of lifting weights. (Demonstrate by lifting and lowering the barbells or dumbbells as you share these thoughts.) With full confidence, we know that with each and every lift of these heavy objects physical change is happening in our bodies. Our muscles are being strengthened. Our stamina is being stretched. Each lift of the weight will cause today's ten lift limitation to yield to a possible 12 lifts tomorrow and a possible 14 lifts the next day. A daily discipline will cause today's 25 pound limitation to soon yield to a 50 pound limitation. Eventually, in mere weeks or months, you will look just like those wrestlers on television's World Wrestling Federation wrestling matches. Let's take this one bit further. After you lift the weights that first lift, does your body feel any different? Of course not. Does it look any different? Nope. How about after the second lift? Again, of course not. So, do you quit because you don't immediately feel or see the benefits of this exercise? It would be easy to quit because, after all, it's not easy or convenient to do what you are doing. Why keep on keeping on? It's because that you know that with each and every lift of those weights your body is getting a smidgen stronger. A lift ...

15 Feb 2016 His Promise, Your Children, This Year!

God promised that He would pour out His Spirit upon our children. Vickie and I are declaring that His promise is true for YOUR children and it will happen in 2016!  How can this happen? Through our 3-hour, Saturday morning Ignite & Unite Conferences, we want to train and equip those ministering in your Nursery, Sunday School, Children's Church, Mid-Week Bible Clubs, and Student Ministries to work together with the Holy Spirit. Why is this important? We are convinced that those working in your ministries want a move of God but just don't know how to flow with the Holy Spirit. Through the conference, we can place them on the launching pad for a move of God's Spirit. Here is what is covered in the conference: * The Danger of the Status Quo * The Holy Spirit on Assignment * The 10 Commandments of the Supernatural * Flowing with the Anointing And, this is what I love the most about the conference ...

08 Feb The Necessity of the Holy Spirit Baptism

Most of my blog posts are such a challenge to compose. My passion for the person and work of the Holy Spirit is so enormous that I battle trying to keep the word count to being something that could be read in two to three minutes. With the average person reading 250 to 300 words per minute, I struggle keeping my passion constrained to a word count that won't overwhelm the reader. Because of the likes of Twitter, the days of individuals sitting down with a book or magazine are  long gone. (I’m even struggling now because I’m using word count to explain why I struggle.) Fortunately, there are those rare times that I find something that is "packaged" in a sentence or two and I don't need to be write paragraph after paragraph to enlarge upon the thought. And, today is one of those times. I've been reading a treasure written back in 1942, P.C. Nelson's book The Baptism in the Holy Spirit: The Doctrine, The Experience, The Evidence. Here's a thought that is so self-explanatory that I won't have to enlarge on the thought. Allow the Holy Spirit to make this come alive in you. "If the holy Son of God needed the anointing of the Spirit for His ministry, what supreme folly to imagine that we can dispense with it!"...

01 Feb Have a Child Running From God? Read This!

Most churches that I have attended or speak in today have a mini-sermon (many aren't too "mini") before the offering is received to challenge the people's faith to trust God in their giving. Here is a scripture verse often used during these mini/maxi-sermons: "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." Luke 6:38 If not that verse, then it is: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Galatians 6:7 I might not be sitting beside you right now but I can sense that you are shaking your head in agreement. You've heard those verses quoted or read many, many times around the offering time. But have you considered this thought ...
