To God Be the Glory!
This week, Vickie and I are celebrating 36 years of ministry together. It all began with our first Kid's Crusade in Forest Hill, Louisiana with Mark and Trina Hankins the first week of June in 1979. Years later and many thousands of miles behind us, we look forward to many more years of together advancing the Kingdom.
Reality Check – Signs are WAITING on BELIEVING Kids!
I don't know what it is about the early morning hours that causes me to hear things from the Holy Spirit. For example, just a couple of mornings ago at a little past 4 AM, I heard in my spirit the question, "Are we raising up Mark 16 kids?". Needless to say, for the next bit of time, I pondered that question. Here's the portion of the scripture that the Holy Spirit was referencing. "And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will...
How Real is the Holy Spirit to You?
In growing up in West Columbia, Texas and attending the Christian Center, I often heard Pastor B.B. Hankins say, "I wouldn't cross the street without the Holy Ghost." I recognize now that his statement was merely an updated version of Jesus' statement. But Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing alone." John 5:19 (New Century Version) Such a dependency happens when the "realness" factor of the Holy Ghost kicks in. I love how Kathryn Kuhlman expressed it. "He is more real to me than you are." This Person that Jesus introduced in John 14-16 wants to be so real to us that it...
Avoiding a MAJOR Mistake!
A couple of weeks ago, I was watching a Kenneth E Hagin teaching on YouTube and took special note about his traveling days as an evangelist after leaving his last pastorate in 1949. In the video, Brother Hagin stated that after becoming established as an evangelist and having traveled a couple of years, he never accepted an invitation to minister in a church unless he was assured that the meeting would last at least three weeks. Was Brother Hagin looking for prolonged meetings just to fill up his traveling calendar? No. He stated that it often two weeks to build the people’s faith in order...
Make Your Kid’s Bible Come ALIVE!
Here's a simple and yet important suggestion to use in your ministry. In an age where many in our churches are Bible illiterate, why don't we use our ministry to change this trend. When we teach a Bible verse or tell of an event in the Bible, why don't we actually have an open Bible in our hands, and if time allows, encourage and help if necessary those in our ministry to locate your reference so that they can read along with you. To take this one bit further, let's use this opportunity to emphasize the significance and power of the Word of God by doing the following. Before the Bible is...
