Divine Healing 101
Let me take you back to your college days. In preparing for the upcoming semester, I'm sure that you can remember reading through the offered classes and noticing courses scattered throughout the list with a "101" attached to its title. In using the 101, the college informed us that this class would provide the basics or foundational information on a particular subject. Future advanced classes would be based on the basics found in that introductory class. I know that there are many today needing to receive healing. I also know that sadly little teaching is provided today and a "101"...
An Eye Opener!
Honestly, I don't know why I've never before noticed this eye-opener tucked in the twenty-fourth verse of the Acts 10 account of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon Cornelius' house. "On the following day he [and the others] entered Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them, and had called together his relatives and close friends." Acts 10:24 (Amplified Bible) Before last Friday morning, I had considered "called together his relatives and friends" to be a trivial detail in Luke's telling of this event. But, all too early that morning, this detail that I had long overlooked arose in my...
The Great Outdoer
Possibly like you, I've been called many different nicknames in my lifetime. In digging into the Facts That You've Never Known About Billy file, I'll let you know that a few of the names were Billy Boy, Sweet William, and Stud Muffin (well, that one might be just in my imagination). Another interesting fact is that I have never been called Mister Rocket Scientist, Brainiac Burns, or the Mensa Man. For the life of me, I can't understand this oversight. As a child, I will admit that I was so bright as a child that my momma called me son. (I can hear your groan.) All joking aside (was I...
It Happened in Paris, France
Some years ago while on a ministry trip to Mali, West Africa, Vickie and I had a two-day layover in Paris, France. Perhaps you too have visited this incredible city and experienced sites including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Louvre, It was an amazing two days except for one event - I was pickpocketed on our train ride to the Eiffel Tower. Whoever stole my wallet was oh-so-good. I never knew that my wallet had found a new place to exist. The agony of this tragedy was twofold. First, the wallet and its contents (money, credit cards, and identification) were stolen (all...
The Pinch
This is too cool. I'll take it one step further. This is too cool and too simple. Just a couple of hours ago, I (with the help of the Holy Spirit) discovered the ultimate, sure-fire way to know with all certainty if God really wants you to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. I'll need you to follow these step-by-step instructions. On your right hand, fold in your middle, ring, and pinky fingers leaving only your thumb and index fingers showing. Now, move those two fingers over to your left arm and pinch the dickens on the arm. Don't hold...
