Pull Out the Knife and Fork!

When Vickie and I made our first trip to Africa, we got to experience life in the bush for a small portion of the trip. (Being out in the bush created many, many stories that I'll share in future blog posts!) One thing that I will never forget about this experience was the first meal that we ate upon our arrival, curried goat. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a curried anything fan ... never liked it, never will. While I know that the host family had gone to great effort to prepare a delicious meal, great as it might have been to the host family, it took every effort on my part to eat...

The Oohs of the Holy Spirit

Several weeks ago, I sensed the Holy Spirit tell me that many people allow Him to only go so far in their lives. With open arms, the Church collectively and the saints individually have embraced His work up to a certain point and then they apply the spiritual brakes. He made it simple for me (as He often does) by showing me the "oohs" of His complete, unhindered heavenly assignment. I recently attended a meeting where Reinhard Bonnke ministered. It was so, so, so powerful. In his sermon, Reinhard shared a thought that I immediately knew that I needed to share with you. After reading this sentence, I'm sure that you will want to write it in the back of your Bible, make it a screensaver for your computer, posted it on index cards around your home and office, and ... well, you get the idea. Here is the statement ... "Jesus can only be what we preach Him to be." ~Reinhard Bonnke Isn't this a powerful statement? If you want to see people born again, then preach Jesus as the...

Put On Your Shoutin’ Clothes!

I will tell you up front that this blog post comes with a warning. If you are reading this while sitting amongst a group of people, please close this post and come back to it when you won't embarrass yourself because of excessive emotionalism. If your spirit is even remotely sensitive to the Holy Spirit, the following quote will cause what old time Pentecostals called a Holy Ghost runaway causing you to leap to your feet and display your joy and excitement. Now that  you've been warned, read this quote from one of my heroes, George Jeffreys. (For those not familiar with Jefferys, this Welch...
