Need Help in Your Local Church?
I realize that if we keep on doing what we've always done that we will have what we've always had. And, evidently, what we have been doing isn't producing a move of God in many churches. Some moving and shifting must take place in order to see an outpouring of God's Spirit. In July of this year, Vickie and I stepped out into a new season of ministry to help usher in this move of God. We've heard from God telling us, "The nation is waiting for you. The nations (plural) are waiting." Now is the time to ignite a move of God! I recognize that many people in your ministry can't...
Checking Up
Just a quick question ... did you receive my last Billy Burns Ministries newsletter? Perhaps a more important question would be, did you actually read the last newsletter? It was sent out on Tuesday of last week. If you didn't receive it or read it, please take a moment and click on this link. It will tell you what is going on in this new season of our ministry, how that we can help you in your church, and it has the most incredible picture of the most beautiful granddaughter in the world (no brag, just fact). How Do You Do Ministry?
Yesterday, I was reading Acts 1 again and a phrase that I know that I've read so many times before jumped out at me. In the second verse, I read ... "Until the day when He ascended, after He through the Holy Spirit had instructed and commanded the apostles (special messengers) whom He had chosen." Acts 1:2 (The Amplified Translation) My eyes couldn't leave the phrase "after He through the Holy Spirit had instructed and commanded". Jesus was teaching and leading "through the Holy Spirit". It wasn't the Son of God doing it all by Himself. Jesus was depending upon the Holy Spirit. Let me let...
I Double-Dog Dare You
Let me tell you up front that you will need to be seated before you read the next sentence. Here it is ... "Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the action of His power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]." Ephesians 3:20 (The Amplified Translation) I absolutely love this verse because it reminds me that God is able to do far above anything that my peanut-sized brain can dream or imagine. No prayer that I can pray...
Here’s My Secret!
Can I let you in on a personal secret? I'll tell you the secret only if you promise that you will not keep it a secret and will tell everyone that you know. Here it is ... even if I HATED kids (which, believe me, I don't) I would still want to be a vital, faithful part of the children's ministry in a local church. No, you don't have to reread that last sentence to see if you really read what I wrote. You read it correctly. I'd literally put up a fight to be a part of a children's ministry. It would take some big, over-sized, whamma-jamma men to keep me out. And here's why ... I believe in...
