Let’s Lose the Teflon!

Let’s Lose the Teflon!

I know that this will sound strange to some readers, but early, early, early (I'm not writing this word three times to increase the word count. It really was so very early) this morning, I heard the Holy Spirit say, "It's time for believers to lose the Teflon". It didn't take much explanation on His part for me to see the need for this sleep interruption.  Teflon is one of the most wonderful inventions of my lifetime. Without this non-stick coating on frying pans, over the years, I would have offered many, many, many burnt sacrifices to God while I was cooking. Thank God for Teflon. Listen,...

Questions

Questions

I know that this might seem simple, too simple in fact, but being simple has never stopped me before. I just want to share some questions that I would ask you to ponder and come to your own conclusions. In looking at what many of today's churches preach and demonstrate or don't preach and demonstrate, I question... Has the priority/need for the Holy Spirit baptism decreased since Jesus issued His command for His followers to wait for this baptism? (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4) You know, it's no longer 30 A.D. We live in an enormously different world today, right? Is the power promised with this...

Pentecost 101

Pentecost 101

While growing up and attending the Gulf Coast Christian Center, I often heard my pastor B.B. Hankins say that if a person would listen to the Holy Spirit, He would make them look brilliant. While I don't claim to be brilliant, last Friday the Holy Spirit gave me this tremendous alliteration that I know I couldn't/wouldn't have created on my own. This post that I almost titled "The Five W's of Pentecost" or "The Basics of Pentecost" so simply and powerfully capsulizes Pentecost. It comes from Acts 1:8. "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be...

Plugging Into the God Kind of Power

Plugging Into the God Kind of Power

Three weeks ago, Vickie and I had the opportunity to minister at one of my all-time favorite churches, Riverside Church which is located down in Sebastian, Florida. Since the drive was only about two hours, we woke up on that Sunday at 4:30 AM to get showered, dressed and on the road by 5:45 AM so that we could be on time for the 8:15 AM service. Saturday evening, I went to bed knowing what God had wanted me to preach. In my time of preparation, I knew that I knew that the Holy Spirit would definitely show up and lives would be changed. I couldn't wait to preach the two services! Here's a...

Fueling Your Passion

Fueling Your Passion

In ministering in our Holy Spirit Rallies, service after service, Vickie and I are seeing such a hunger among God's people for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The barriers of tradition and formulas are being pushed to the side and eliminated. There is a cry of "Yes, Lord. Here, Lord. Me, Lord. Now, Lord." Let me share some quotes that will fuel your desperation and longing for a fresh, right-now, personal outpouring of God's Spirit. ~ "The less Holy Spirit operation we have, the more cake and coffee we need to keep the church going." Reinhard Bonnke Holy Spirit: Are We Flammable Or...
