Let me let you in on my new favorite word. It is the word “and”. Here’s why …
“For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is to and for you
and your children, and to and for all that are far away,
[even] to and for as many as the Lord our God
invites and bids to come to Himself.”
Acts 2:39 (The Amplified Bible)
Evidently, it is also God’s favorite word, especially in connection with fulfilling His promise concerning the pouring out of His Holy Spirit. Did you notice how many times that God uses this word in this promise? To use computer jargon, in giving this promise, it is evident that He is on a CONTROL-V frenzy. (On the computer keyboard, holding the Control button while typing the letter V is a shortcut for inserting/pasting copied material.) It is one “and” and then another “and” and then another … it just keeps on going which shows God’s passionate desire that every individual receive and enjoy the benefits of the Holy Spirit. It is His way of saying that the Holy Spirit is for you and you and you and you and you and you and … well, you get the idea.
Here is the reason for this week’s blog. In Acts 2:39, God displays His desire. No one is to be excluded. Now, it’s up to us to give Him the opportunity through our teaching and preaching to fulfill His promise to each “and” every person in our ministry. We do this by boldly proclaiming His promise and then boldly giving each and every “and” a chance to respond. I can already tell you what will happen once you do this. God will boldly baptize each “and” every one!
Do me a favor … write me at [email protected] and tell me what God does after you give Him the opportunity to pour out His Spirit on every “and” in your ministry.
