29 Nov I Have Some Confessions to Make

CONFESSION TIME - I love, love, love the Holy Spirit and I love, love, love having the opportunity to teach and preach about Him. This honestly is one my greatest joys in life! I love standing before a group of people to tell about the One sent by the Father to walk alongside believers and witnessing them begin a new-found relationship with Him. It's a bit of heaven on earth! THE CONFESSION CONTINUES - One of my greatest frustrations in life is, after teaching and/or preaching in a church, leaving the church and not having had the time to share more and more and more about the Person and work of the Holy Spirit. The 45 minutes to an hour given to me to minister on a Sunday morning provides me with barely enough time to impart a minuscule of what I would want to share. THERE'S MORE TO CONFESS - My frustration is relieved by knowing that believers can take a simple three step course of action to develop a relationship with the Holy Spirit. 1. Spend time with the Holy Spirit. While driving to/from work or taking a walk in the morning or evening, purpose to use that time to connect with Him. Dialogue ...

26 Nov Book of Acts Normal Christianity

Please take three minutes and read these 260 words. I believe that the Holy Spirit will take the following two powerful quotes and my brief closing thought to launch you into a Book of Acts way of life. Here are the quotes. "As long as the Church remained under the control of the Spirit, the same works continued." ~F.F. Bosworth "Christ the Healer" “In the early church, signs and wonders and miracles followed. They cast out demons, blindness and paralysis. That’s normal Christianity! We’re so sub-normal, if we ever became normal, they (the world) will think we’re abnormal.” ~Leonard Ravenhill The filled (Acts 2:4) and kept being filled (Ephesians 5:18) Book of Acts believers continuously saw the manifest power of God as individuals and corporately as the Church. As long as they continued this communion of the Spirit, He continued bringing about normal Christianity. I know that you already know this but I'll share it anyways. The Holy Spirit hasn't changed one iota since the days of the Book of Acts. He hasn't diminished in might and power. He is still in the normal Christianity business with signs, wonders, and miracles readily available for those choosing to remain under His control. I know that I am writing today to believers that want to see and live Book of Acts normal Christianity. For you, being sub-normal isn't an option. But, I've written enough. I'll let the Holy Spirit personalize the thought about remaining under His control. Don't be in a hurry. Dialogue with Him. Then, begin to do the "same works" of normal Christianity.    ...

22 Nov Why Pray in the Spirit?

For the last 11 years, I have shared week after week blog post after blog post about my love for the Holy Spirit. Many of the blog posts have focused on training and equipping those who minister to children and youth about how to work together with the Holy Spirit. I am confident that these posts have blessed these leaders and workers enabling them to raise up what I call a Joel 2 Generation of children and youth. Secondly, the biggest portion of the blog posts have been written to share insights with believers around the world about how to know and flow with the Holy Spirit. Recent blog posts like Filled and Enjoying the Benefits and TODAY is the Day of the Holy Ghost were written to stir your hunger for having a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Let me share a quote with you this week that I believe will cause you to better understand how praying in other tongues strengthens your awareness of your relationship with the Holy Spirit and reflects in your daily walk with Christ. "Here is an important fact about the value of speaking with tongues: although speaking with tongues is the initial sign or evidence of the Holy Spirit’s infilling, continuing to pray and worship God in tongues helps us to be ever conscious of His indwelling presence. This one benefit alone is bound to affect the way we live." ~Kenneth E. Hagin "Tongues: Beyond the Upper Room" A lot of blog posts that I write require some four hundred plus words to explain the thought that I am trying to share. Brother Hagin's powerful statement doesn't need any additional explanation. Simply read it and do it. Enough said....

15 Nov Today is the Day of the Holy Ghost!

One Sunday morning while Vickie and I were children's pastors in South Florida, we had an incredible time of praise and worship with our children. God's presence was evident and the children were responding. At the conclusion of the time of worship, I stepped onto the platform to segue into the next part of the service and turned to Vickie and said these words, "Vickie, I see the day coming where we will have to force the boys and girls to stop worshiping God." I then turned my attention back to the segue and afterwards left the platform. If the story ended right there, it would be a great testimony. But, there's more to this story. Just a few minutes later, I heard the Holy Spirit say to me, "Don't ever say that again." This totally caught me off guard. I had no idea what the "that" was He was referring to. He continued by saying, "Don't ever say the words 'I see the day coming' again. Instead, from now on, declare that today is the day of the Holy Ghost. Too many live in the past when I moved in days gone bye. And others look at the future which is always beyond their reach. Instead, declare that today is the day of the Holy Ghost and you will see me show up." That encounter forever changed my life. He was so spot on. You and I both know of people and churches that constantly look at moves of God from the past and park their bus there. There isn't and can't be a fresh wind of the Spirit in their lives and ministries. Others, keep referring to the future and say that they see a move of God in the days ahead. Reality shows that the future is always beyond where you are right now. By declaring "TODAY is the day of the Holy Ghost", He begins to reveal His presence and power in the here and now. So, be forewarned. If you attend one of our Holy Spirit Rallies or Ignite & Unite Conferences, get ready to hear "TODAY is the day of the Holy Ghost". In fact, you might hear this declaration over and over again. Be ready to witness this declaration opening up the door for the Holy Spirit to move as only He can. There is much more that I can share about this subject. I will save it for some future blog posts. But, I will share this one thought in closing. I challenge you to begin making this declaration and making it often each and every day. Don't make this just a statement reserved for just your church services. In fact, go ahead right now and declare OUT LOUD "TODAY is the day of the Holy Ghost". Your life will never ever be the same again!...
