Here is a truth that might be a reminder for some readers and a new revelation for others. Get out your pen because you are going to want to write this in the margin of your Bible. Here it is. The Holy Spirit is a multitasker. I might even go so far as to call Him the Great Multitasker. This reality is found in this verse.
“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” Acts 2:41
As Peter preached by the enablement of the Holy Spirit to the throng of people gathered outside of the upper room, the One who draws people to salvation in Christ was busy dealing with the hearts of a multitude of individuals all at one time. The Great Multitasker was dealing with the heart of a woman standing close to Peter and also the man standing beside her and the child standing to his side and the…in other words, the Holy Spirit was causing Peter’s powerfully anointed words to grip the hearts of individual after individual throughout the crowd. The Great Multitasker’s convicting and drawing power simultaneously drew some three thousand people to Christ.
I challenge you to read Acts again. In doing so, you will find that the multitasking seen in Acts 2 wasn’t a one-time occurrence. One person or five thousand individuals, one problem or a long list of issues, the Great Multitasker delivered God’s answer and power each and every time to each and every person and situation. And, He can and will do the very same thing for you!
I am writing this post to encourage you to add the name GREAT MULTITASKER to the many names that we give the Holy Spirit. He is the Comforter, Helper, Empowerer, Joy Bringer, Mystery Prayer Enabler, Spirit Builder…Great Multitasker. Yes, yes, yes!
