Be forewarned. This post will either have you thinking, “Are you really serious?” or “Billy, go for it!”. I don’t think that there’s any room in the middle for what I am about to share.
Here goes. I have thought and thought some more about the possibility of one day standing up in one of our Holy Spirit Rallies on a Sunday morning and opening up my Bible to read…
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8 (New King James Version)
After reading the verse, I would again boldly read…
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8 (New King James Version)
But, that’s not all. I would do this over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. No explanation would be added to the reading of the scripture. Now, please, don’t stop reading. Are you still with me?
Here is what I know to be true. In doing so, one of two things will happen. First, it’s a given that some people will begin to leave and won’t be able to find the exit doors fast enough. But wait, that won’t be everyone in the congregation. After just a few short minutes, one by one, there will be individuals who will jump up from their seats and begin to shout, dance, and do what they previously couldn’t do. Church protocol and “decency” will be thrown out of the window. Being “pretty” and the opinions of others won’t matter. It will be unlike anything that we have seen in recent memory. Why? Because “Faith comes by hearing and hearing…” (Romans 10:17). I know that I know that I know that spiritual eyes will open and the Jesus of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John will walk off of the pages of the Bible and become a today’s Jesus. The Healer, Deliverer, Saviour, and Lord will begin to show through the work of the Holy Spirit that He is in the room. Bodies will instantly change. Depression will flee. Hearts will mend. Fear will vanish as the works and greater works promised in John 14:12 begin to be seen.
Let me close this post by asking you to do this one thing. Please recognize that I don’t have to be standing in front of you with my open Bible reading “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 (New King James Version). My request is that you begin to read this powerful verse aloud over and over and over and over again expecting Jesus to walk into your circumstances. Get ready. Change WILL take place. I’ll say it again. Change WILL take place as God’s Word becomes alive in your spirit.
Am I certifiably crazy or in my right mind? The decision is yours to make!
I set aside some time this week to seek God on some specific things. I’m ready to try it, till I do it, till I embrace it, till He shows up…
