One of the highlights of the school day for most Kindergarten and first-grade children is the Show and Tell activity. I’m sure that you can recall your excitement as a child when, in Show and Tell, you stood in front of the classroom with an item brought from home, showed it to your classmates, and then told about it.

While recently preparing for a sermon, I read a New Testament account of the Holy Spirit participating in a Show and Tell situation. While it wasn’t in an elementary school classroom before a group of young children, it was 100% a Show and Tell demonstration. In the city of Samaria, we read:

“And the people with one accord gave heed
unto those things which Philip spake,
hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.”
Acts 8:6

I so wish I could have been present to see the Holy Spirit make His presentation through Philip. Through Word AND deed, the Holy Spirit through Philip had EVERYONE’S attention!

In case you don’t already know this, that same Holy Spirit still loves participating in Show and Tell opportunities. In fact, each week, He quietly sits in your ministry situation waiting for His turn to stand, show what He brought to the meeting, and begin to speak. Did you catch that? It’s an EACH WEEK desire.

This short 273-word post is shared to encourage you to echo Paul’s words.

“For our gospel came not unto you in word only,
but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance;…”
1 Thessalonians 1:5

In doing so, I guarantee it will be a meeting you and everyone present will never forget!
