In recent days, my heart has been so stirred to bring the message of God’s healing power to a crying, sighing, dying generation. Even in the Church, you find many, many, many desperately in need of deliverance and freedom from pain, sickness, and suffering. And yet, ignorance of God’s provision robs them of the readily available healing.

Oh, how I wish I could personally sit down with each of these individuals, open our Bibles together, and spend time exploring these powerful healing provisions. Perhaps in the near future, I can share multiple posts to unpack the beauty of these expressions of God’s miracle-working power. But until those posts are written and published, let me share bullet-point nuggets to stir faith for receiving healing.

God’s healing power can be released through:

  1. THE WORD. We know that God’s Word is truth (John 17:17), and the truth will set us free. (John 8:32) As we read God’s Word, we receive a revelation and understanding of God’s nature and power, which will loosen the chains of bondage (Luke 13:16) and bring healing. (Psalm 107:20)
  2. THE NAME OF JESUS. Thank God for a name that is higher than the name given to any and every kind of sickness, disease, or malady. (Philippians 2:9-11) At the name of Jesus, cancer has to bow its knees. Arthritis must acknowledge the power in His name and flee.
  3. THE POWER OF THE BLOOD. It’s still true today. There is “pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r in the blood of the Lamb”. The blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony change us from being defeated to being designated as overcomers! (Revelation 12:11)
  4. THE POWER OF AGREEMENT. To receive healing, it doesn’t take a village, a congregation, or even an entire family, because we read that if “two of you will agree,” results will be on their way! (Matthew 18:19) While I didn’t major in mathematics when I attended college, I am smart enough to count upwards to the number two. So simple, so powerful.
  5. ANOINTING WITH OIL AND THE PRAYER OF FAITH. The anointing with oil is faith in action. The prayer is faith in speaking. Combined, the “shall save the sick” will be experienced. (James 5:14-15)
  6. THE DECREE. For those uptight about confession, long before Jesus spoke about moving a mountain (Mark 11:23), Job told us about the power of our declaration. Boldly, authoritatively, unwaveringly speaking scriptures like “I AM the LORD that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26), “I will take sickness away from the midst of thee” (Exodus 23:25), and “who healeth all thy diseases” (Psalm 103:3) causes sickness to depart.
  7. THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT. These gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12:6-11 are given to the Body of Christ to bring about what is needed (KJV “to profit withal”), which includes bodily healing. And, don’t limit this to just the “gifts of healings”. All nine gifts deliver healing.
  8. COMMUNION. The partaking of the juice and bread is what I call God’s paid-in-full sales receipt for both spirit and body. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) It is a time to celebrate and declare that Jesus paid it all!!!!!!!
  9. PRAISE. When God dwells in the praises of His people (Psalm 22:23), sickness has to vacate our spirit, soul, and body. God didn’t create us to house both!
  10. THE LAYING ON OF HANDS. The “shall recover” in Mark 16:18 is a two-sided coin. First, this promise for believers states that God’s healing power is released as hands are laid upon you. Second, in this same verse, the promise becomes a command: as believers, we are to lay hands upon the sick. Know that we are the ones to act in obedience, and God is the one who will bring about the healing.

I’m already at 606 words and have to quit. Still, there is much to be shared. Here’s a solution. Allow us to come and minister at a Jesus the Healer Rally in your local church.
