For those with an iPhone, you are readily aware that app updates are a way of life. I’m sure that you’ll agree that it’s a rare day that the iPhone’s App Store doesn’t show that one or more of the apps have updates ready to download. These constant updates are available for three possible reasons … first, to remedy critical issues such as an app locking up or having compatibility problems, second, to tweak its functionality so that it can run smoother, and third, to give the app a fresh, new look. The app creators recognize the value of these continual downloads to bring the programs up-to-date and to function at 100% capacity.
The Holy Spirit recently shared with me one of the most powerful thoughts about the importance of being baptized in the Holy Spirit, and of all things, He used the iPhone to make the thought crystal clear. Here’s the thought. One of the greatest benefits of being filled with the Holy Spirit is that praying in my heavenly language provides a fresh, up-to-date heavenly download into my spirit, a download that addresses and remedies daily issues, causes me to be able to function at 100% capacity for that day, and provides a fresh overhaul on my countenance.
Do I have scripture to prove this? I’m glad that you asked. It’s found in 1 Corinthians 14:4. I’ll first share from the King James Version and then from a few other translations that really makes this come alive.
* King James Version – He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself;
* Amplified Bible – He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself.
* The Holy Bible in the Language of Today – When you talk in another language, you encourage yourself.
* Weymouth New Testament – He who speaks in an unknown tongue does good to himself.
If this doesn’t cause you to get excited about praying in the Spirit, close this blog, call 9-1-1, and then notify your next of kin that possible funeral arrangements might be necessary. This one thought alone is enough to push my relationship with the Holy Spirit into a totally new realm. Heaven has provided a way for me to improve myself. And, to be honest, I need all of the “does good to himself” that I can get. Praying in my prayer language makes it possible for me to receive constant, powerful updates and needed improvements that will enable me to fulfill the will of God for each day. For this one reason alone, it would be easy to understand why the apostle Paul wrote, “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than you all”. (I Corinthians 14:18). He was just professing that he recognized the need for daily downloads and updates.
Now close this blog and begin to pray in your heavenly prayer language. The Holy Spirit is ready to provide some much-needed improvements. Do it now. You’ll thank me!!!
