I’ll let you in on a secret only if you promise that you will tell the secret to everyone that will listen to you. I know that your mind is confused by that statement. If it is a secret, then why would I want you to tell people? Because, not knowing this truth has brought many Believers much confusion and even harm.
Before I tell you the secret, let me share the background for the reason for this big reveal. From time to time, I hear people make statements like, “I just can’t figure out what God wants me to do” or “I don’t know what God’s will is in the situation”. It’s a pretty common statement. So many people are clueless about God’s will.
Here’s the big revelation … for those struggling to find, know, and do the will of God, pray in the Spirit. Okay, I’ll fess up. It’s not really a secret at all because this truth has been in the Bible for centuries. You might say that this secret has been hiding in plain sight. Here is what the Apostle Paul wrote …
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.
For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought,
but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us
with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Now He who searches the hearts knows what
the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes
intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
Romans 8:26-27 (New King James Version)
Got questions about what to do or not do? Perplexed about how to pray for a friend or family member? Confused concerning a situation? Thank God for Romans 8:26-27. Here is your course of action:
- First, begin by confessing to God that you are clueless about the need and its answer.
- Then thank God that He didn’t leave you helpless. In your weakness or inadequacy, you are calling upon the Holy Spirit to enable you to pray out the will of God and launch into action all that is needed to bring about the answer to the situation.
- Boldly begin to pray in the Spirit knowing that the Holy Spirit is coming alongside of you. You aren’t praying alone. The Spirit Himself is joining you arm-in-arm as you go before the Father.
- And then finally rest assured that the intercession is bringing about God’s perfect will.
Now remember that you promised at the beginning of this blog post to go spread this “secret” to everyone. So, turn off the computer and start spreading the news.
