Lately, the Lord has really been dealing with my heart about what His Word has to say about the subject of divine healing. I’m not talking about just a little urge from the Lord here and there. I’m talking about a major stirring, the kind that wakes up a person at night to ponder and meditate upon His insights. I call these times “hmmm” moments. I know that you know exactly what I am talking about. Getting a nighttime hmmm is generally the kind that to me is the most impactful.
These are just too good to keep to myself. Here are just a few divine healing hmmms that have interrupted my sleep in the last few weeks. Warning – get ready to say hmmm a few times! Warning #2 – your hmmms might just break out into shouting and rejoicing!
- Psalm 103:3 – ALL EQUALS ALL. The all that states that God forgives all of our sins is the same all that states that He heals all of our diseases. There are no exclusions in the sin-forgiving category and no exclusions in the body/mind-healing category, God doesn’t forgive just some of our sins nor does He heal just some of our diseases. Hmmm.
- Acts 10:34 – THERE ARE NO FAVORITES. The God who is identified as being One who shows no partiality is the healer of and for all. If He heals one person, wouldn’t He heal two? And, if He heals two wouldn’t He heal four? Hmmm.
- Matthew 14:36 – HE MAKES WHOLE. God is not a “halfway” God. Throughout the gospels, divine healing is referred to as being made whole, not partially, slightly, or somewhat. Whole means complete, thorough, and not lacking. In fact, our reference says that those touching Him “were made perfectly whole”. Hmmm.
- Matthew 8:2-3 – IT’S AN ABSOLUTE YES. No brain cells are needed when it comes to knowing His desire to heal each and every individual. This account is the only New Testament telling of an individual asking if it was Jesus’ will to heal. The answer? YES! His will is just that direct and simple. YES! Hmmm.
- Acts 10:38 – REMEMBER THE SOURCE. Oppression (tyranny, being overwhelmed, harassed, overpowered, beaten down) is from the devil. Healing is from the Master. It was for this purpose the Son of God was manifested (1 John 3:8). Hmmm.
- Matthew 20:34 – NOW IS THE TIME. The words “immediately” and “straightway” used over and over again throughout the gospels tell of His willingness to heal right this very second. Hmmm.
- Exodus 15:26 – HE HASN’T CHANGED HIS NAME. He declared that He is Jehovah Rapha the LORD that heals and we have no record of Him changing that redemptive name. Hmmm.
- Hebrews 13:8 – THE HMMM OF ALL HMMMS. The Great Physician of the gospels is the Great Physician today. Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm, hmmm.
Go ahead. Meditate upon these hmmms. Healing is for you and through you TODAY! I’ve gotta’ stop. My hmmms are giving way to outbursts of great joy.
