Here is a truth that won’t come as a great, earth-shaking, new revelation to you – God is good. I know that you already know this to be true. In fact, in all probability, you’ve known God to be good since your early childhood. How so? If your childhood was like mine, you possibly daily acknowledged God’s goodness in the “God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for this food…” prayer offered before your meals.
What was prayed as young children isn’t just something that’s just cute and simple to recite. This powerful insight is found over and over again throughout the scriptures. In Psalms alone, we read the phrases “God is good”, “the LORD is good”, and “He is good” ten different times. Would it be safe to assume that this isn’t something to be ignored?
I’m sharing about God’s goodness because I want us to focus on God’s passionate desire to show His goodness in healing our bodies. Consider the “good” found in these scriptures.
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” Matthew 7:11
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38
“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11
Can you see how these scriptures fit together? For those needing healing, recognize that God is the Father who
1. Specializes in the “how much more” when it comes to giving good things. Ridding bodies of disease and pain is a GOOD thing. PLUS
2. Shows that “doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil” is His divine plan. Doing GOOD and healing all is a God thing. PLUS
3. Has a policy that declares “no good thing will he withhold”. Our Father isn’t having to think about whether or not it is GOOD (His will) to heal us. Healing is ours for the asking! (Matthew 7:7-8.11)
God is good. GOD is good. GOD IS good. GOD IS GOOD. Nothing more needs to be added.
