A few weeks ago, I shared the following teaching in one of our Ignite & Unite Conferences. There were so many comments about the “Here Is What God Sees” workshop that I thought that it would bless you.
One of my favorite, revs-my-spiritual-engine-every-time scriptures is…
“…but the people that do know their God shall be strong,
and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32
Go ahead and read it again, and then get ready to receive a profound revelation. Are you sitting down? Ready? Here it is: You fit into the “people” category. If you doubt that statement, I challenge you to take a couple of minutes and look in the mirror. Go ahead. Prove to yourself that you are a “people” (or person for you grammarians). And here is part two of this revelation: You fit into the “people that do know their God” category. You know that I’m right, don’t you?
Here is the purpose of this post. If you fit into the “people” category (and you do) and the “people that do know their God” category (and you do), where are the “be strong” and “do exploits” promised results? I believe that the answer is found in this scripture.
“And he did not many mighty works there
because of their unbelief.” Matthew 13:58
There are many wonderful definitions of “unbelief.” Perhaps you have your own. To me, the simplest definition is “not seeing like God sees.” When our seeing is out of line with what God sees about people, circumstances, and events, we thwart the plans of the Holy One of Israel (Psalm 78:41) and fail to see God’s presence and power demonstrated ten out of ten times.
Allow me to get up close and personal. For many reading this post, the liar (John 8:44), blinder (2 Corinthians 4:4), and deceiver (Revelation 12:9) has been messing with your seeing ability, persuading you of your inability to work together with the Holy Spirit. Don’t feel bad. You aren’t the first, nor will you be the last. You are in the ranks of Moses (Exodus 3), Gideon (Judges 6), and Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1).
Let me put an end to Satan’s lies and stop him from robbing (John 10:10) you from seeing the promised “be strong” and “do exploits”. God sees you as
* An able minister of the gospel (2 Corinthians 3:6) You aren’t a stumbler or bumbler. You are ABLE!
* A power carrier (Acts 3:6) Through the Holy Spirit, you have the right “voltage” to end the enemy’s plans.
* A demonstrator (Mark 16:17-18, 20;1 Corinthians 2:4) Through the Holy Spirit, you can back up what you preach.
* A shadow caster (Acts 5:15) Your presence impacts those around you.
* A dreamer/visionary (Joel 2:28-29) You can see people, circumstances, and events from God’s point of view.
Remember, when we change what we see, we will change what we see. No, the repetition wasn’t an accident. When we begin to see ourselves as God sees us, we will begin to see the results that God has promised! Our results-robbing unbelief will be replaced with a gigantic “uh huh” (that’s the modern way of saying “amen”) in our confident, bold power-walk with Christ!
