Have you ever heard of, or better yet, played the “what if” game? Surely, you are affirmatively shaking your head. In this game, a “what if” situation or event is given, and those participating are challenged to present different plausibilities to complete the scenario. Here’s an example — what if Billy (that’s me) walks into a Whataburger restaurant? I won’t announce my thoughts, but rather leave the possible results to your imagination.

Here’s a “what if” (well, maybe several) for you personally and/or your ministry to ask. “What if” we quit treating the Book of Acts as though it is just a historical account of the birth and formative stages of the Church? “What if” we started treating the Book of Acts as the contemporary guidebook for the life of a believer and the Church? “What if” we started believing that the Holy Spirit hasn’t changed? “What if” we concluded that the Holy Spirit wants to produce Book of Acts results through each of us?

I dare you to play this “What if” game and double-dog dare you to declare out loud your conclusions. Here’s my answer to each of these questions — chapters 29, 30, 31, 32 (and on and on) of the Book of Acts will be added to heaven’s records. Amen? Amen!!!

P.S. One parting thought. If you oversee a ministry in your church, please share this post with your team. Together, allow these “what if” questions to provoke additional chapters to the Book of Acts.
