They say that honesty is good for the soul. And so, it’s time for some honesty — Even on my best day, in my own ability, I fall far short in what is needed to fulfill my heavenly assignment. It’s true. Even with aaaaaalliill (that is an intentional spelling and not my fingers getting stuck on the keyboard) of the giftings and talents I have, I honestly don’t have the ability within me to make a lasting change in this world. There, I feel better having made that confession.
Wait. Don’t stop reading. That’s not the end of the story. So, do I just lie down and moan and groan, knowing that I can’t and never will be able to fulfill my destiny? Do I just give up on life?
I have some really good news for you. No. A thousand times no. Thankfully, long ago I discovered this truth the apostle Paul shared.
“So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid
and bears us up in our weakness …”
Romans 8:26 (The Amplified Bible)
Thank God for the Holy Spirit. I’ll write it again. Thank God for the Holy Spirit. Through His divine intervention and enablement, He constantly, constantly, and constantly some more comes alongside of me and makes up for my weaknesses and inadequacies. I’ve proven that the “Holy Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness …” aren’t just some fancy, shmancy grouping of words on a page in a book. Through His intercession, over and over again, I see my inadequacies pushed aside and His enablement causing me to powerfully fulfill any and every challenge that comes my way. One more time, thank God for the Holy Spirit.
Join with me. Let’s declare our dependency upon Him. Let’s allow Him and invite Him to do what only He can do!!!
