Let it be known throughout the land that we are a ministry that allows for the demonstration of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because it is the New Testament way of ministry! Without exception, in any and every gathering, we expect the Holy Spirit to make His presence known, and He never ceases to show up!
How does this happen? It’s quite simple. In fact, it’s so simple that you will question my answer. First, preach the Word. In a children’s/youth service? Yes. In a nursing home gathering? Yes. In a small group? Yes. It’s not a where issue. It’s a what issue. PREACH THE WORD! Second, step out in faith and expect the Holy Spirit to back up and authenticate the preached Word. If we boldly open the door for His appearance by speaking God’s Word, He will show up to prove that the Word is heaven-sent and endorsed.
Consider this.
“And they went out, preaching everywhere,
the Lord working with them, and giving witness
to the word by the signs which came after. So be it.”
Mark 16:20 (Bible in Basic English)
I challenge you to preach/teach/share the Word and then expect and expect some more for the Holy Spirit to demonstrate His presence and power. Preach/teach/share about healing, then lay hands on the sick and expect results. (Side note – Know that Jesus is the Healer. This takes all of the pressure off of us. All that we have to do is declare and believe.) Boldly preach/teach/share that God has a gift for every believer and then lay hands upon individuals to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and expect results. (Again, there’s no pressure on us. Jesus, not you, is the Baptizer. All that we have to do is lay the foundation by preaching the Word, provide the opportunity, and expect a demonstration.)
