This is too good not to share. It’s taken from the April 2016 Reader’s Digest “Laughter, the Best Medicine” …

A woman noticed her husband standing on the bathroom scale, sucking in his stomach. “Ha! That’s not going to help,” she said.

“Sure, it does,” he said. “It’s the only way that I can see the numbers.”

I want to help you see something that is so, so important. (The good thing is that this will require no sucking in.) Ready? Being baptized in the Holy Spirit isn’t a notch on your spiritual belt that propels you above those who have yet to be Spirit-baptized. Being baptized in the Holy Spirit simply makes you better than you.

I was reminded of this truth this week as I read about Samuel anointing Saul to become Israel’s new king. Samuel prophesied …

“The Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you,
and you will prophesy with them; and you will be
changed into a different person.”
1 Samuel 10:6 (NIV)

Transformed1Can you see this? (No sucking in allowed!) This transformation is radical. God’s Spirit coming upon you and filling you to overflowing creates an altogether different person.

Here is what happens when a person is Spirit-filled. This transformed person will see limitations fall to the wayside. The Spirit’s enablement will launch them into their destiny. It is very possible that wearing a name tag for identification purposes might be required.

As a new, different person, deeply drink of the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) and put on a fresh set of clothes (Luke 24:49) for that day. In doing so, I guarantee that what was impossible before your infilling will now become a way of life!
