20 Jan The Anointing

Here's an observation from a minister who has been around the block a few times. It's still the anointing that destroys, annihilates, and crumbles the yokes of bondage. And, there is absolutely nothing that can take the place of the anointing. In my years at Bible College in preparation for launching out into full time ministry, I can't remember much being said about the anointing. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember classes at my denomination's Bible College that taught about the origin, power, and purpose of the anointing. I did learn how to exegize and homoletize a sermon. I can tell you about the Historical books of the Old Testament and Synoptic Gospels of the New Testament. I know how to officiate weddings and funerals. But, I can't remember any professor teaching about flowing in and demonstrating the anointing. During the ensuing almost 35 years of full time children's ministry, I have attended numerous children's ministry conferences of every type and flavor. I've attended the free one day conferences and also the very pricy, elaborate, big-name conferences. But, again forgive me if I'm wrong, I've never or perhaps rarely heard any teaching about the anointing. I've heard phenomenal teachings about innovation, creativity, teaching styles, technology, techniques, and having the right tools. But, reality is reality. The fact is an elaborate, innovative, high-tech service will never set one child free from Satan's chains. Please understand that I'm not discounting or demeaning the teaching that I received at Bible College and continue to receive in these wonderful conferences. They are offering invaluable information and training. But, if we continue to major on the minors and minor on the major, we will continue to lose generation after generation. Our primary focus must be on the anointing.  Why? Because ...

13 Jan Dare to Believe

Imagine what it would be like if you were convinced that God actually said what He meant and meant what He said. Would you do things differently? What would your ministry be like? Would you dare to passionately, unashamedly, without thought of what others might think worship God and encourage others to join you because you know that He always shows up when He sees people longing for His presence? Would you dare to be extravagant in your personal giving and in your challenge for encouraging others to give knowing that you can't out-give God? Would you dare to have the courage to boldly pray without any hesitation or reservation for people knowing that Jesus is still the Healer and they will be healed? Would you dare to go against today's trend and preach on the baptism of the Holy Spirit and have altar calls because you know that the Father is anxiously awaiting the opportunity to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh? Would you dare to minister the Word with authority knowing that God is watching over His Word to perform it? Would you ...

06 Jan Let There Be a Shout!

Believe it or not, this blog is now inching closer and closer to its seven year anniversary. Finding someone who has consistently week after week blogged for over six years is difficult to find, much less someone that has dedicated the postings to igniting the Holy Spirit's fire in those ministering in children's ministry and the Body of Christ at large. One subject that I have written about several times is the importance of using your voice to initiate revival. Take a minute and read the blog post "Revival is Waiting for the Sound of Your Voice" (January 8, 2008)". I shared about the three benefits of using your voice in Commandment #6 of the "Ten Commandments of the Supernatural" (March 26, 2012). We've been silent far too long. It's time for those of us longing a move of God's Spirit among our children to use our voice and declare what God has to say about the children in our home and ministry. And, let me it very clear. I'm not talking about just meditating. To quote from the television laundry detergent commercial, "For tough stains, you need to SHOUT it out." Passionately use your voice. It's time for some shouting! To make it simple for you, I've listed some verses to read aloud. From these verses, daily remind God, yourself, and all of Hell  about what is forever established in God's Word. Here is what God said about the children in YOUR home and ministry. "I will pour out water for the thirsty land and make streams flow on dry land. I will pour out my Spirit into your children and my blessing on your descendants." Isaiah 44:3 (New Century Version)  "My Spirit, who is on you, and my words that I put in your mouth will not leave you. They will be with your children and your grandchildren permanently,” says the LORD." Isaiah 59:21 (God's Word for Today) "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy ...
