I‘m thrilled by the number of people reading this blog and attending our Ignite the Supernatural Conferences. At last count, there have been individuals from 69 nations that have read at least one of the blog postings in the last 30 days. That is absolutely incredible. This information is a reminder of the fact that people all over the world are hungry and looking for a way to usher in God’s presence.
While I’m thrilled at the number of people reading, I recognize that those reading what I write and then taking the next step to actually do what I write is possibly a small percentage. I am aware that people are busy. Their “get-around-to-it” list is full and possibly overflowing. To use King James language, “the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak”. And, sadly, this busyness can thwart the Holy Spirit’s effort to change you and your ministry.
Let me ask a favor of you. If you never ever do anything else that I suggest, at least do the following. Write down this sentence and then post it around your home and workplace.
My revelation of the Spirit is proportional to my relationship with the Spirit.
Can you see the significance of this sentence? Your private, one-on-one time with the Holy Spirit will bring a new fresh revelation of the person and work of the Holy Spirit. It’s this revelation which will open the door for working together with Him in the public. I’ll even make it simpler. Little time with Him in private, little demonstration of Him in public. Consistent time with Him in private, powerful, greater demonstration of Him in public. The secret communion and fellowship of the Spirit is the key to His visible manifestation in public.
Post the “My revelation …” statement around your house and workplace and allow it to be a reminder of the importance of consistent communion with the Holy Spirit. Begin to use your drive-time to fellowship with Him. When you are exercising, commune with Him. In other words, creatively find time throughout your day to have that one-on-one time with Him. And soon, because of this new found intimacy, you’ll find yourself able to make statements like those found in Acts 15:28 “For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay …” You will begin to flow together with Him in new and exciting ways.
