Yesterday, I read a Bloomberg report online telling that Apple is working on a software fix for its new Phone 14 Pro and Pro Max. The article stated concerning the phones that were released just six days ago, “The update will be released next week, according to the company, signaling it has already identified a solution. The software fix would mark at least the second so far for the iPhone 14”.
Can I share information that is probably not a secret to you? During the lifetime of the iPhone 14 and its iOS 16, we can expect many more updates in the coming weeks and months. And, as these new issues arise (and they will), Apple will research the problem and promptly provide a downloadable update to address the current, never-before-experienced issue for the iPhone and its operating system.
If you are a follower of this blog, you already know where I am going with this post. But, before I share the mini-teaching, let me share this scripture.
“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself…”
1 Corinthians 14:4
Although we have read and perhaps reread and maybe even rereread this scripture, Paul’s admonition needs to be refreshed in our spirits again and again and again. Why? Just like the iPhone and its operating system, (I’ll make it super-simple, Billy-Burns-simple) we can expect that each and every new day will bring new, unprecedented challenges and issues to our operating systems (our spirits). And, again, like the iPhone and its operating systems, last week’s or even yesterday’s updates didn’t address today’s issues. We need a daily download from heaven to daily update, improve, and strengthen our systems.
I love how other Bible translations speak of this personal spiritual download.
* (Amplified Bible Classic) “He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself…”
* (English Standard Version) “The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself…”
* (New Living Translation) “A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally in the Lord…”
* (The Holy Bible in the Language of Today – William F. Beck) “When you talk in another language, you encourage yourself…”
* (Weymouth Translation) “He who speaks in an unknown tongue does good to himself…”
I can guarantee you that today will present its own unique set of challenges. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit is aware of the daily challenges even BEFORE you are confronted with them. Wait, it gets better. Not only is He keenly aware of the challenges, He ALREADY has the solution available and downloadable for our spirit as we pray in other tongues! The edify, improve, build up, strengthen, encourage, and do our spirit good for TODAY is ours for the receiving.
See, I told you so. You’ve read this verse before, haven’t you? Now, it’s time to start experiencing the benefits of this verse. Quit reading this post and start addressing both the known and unknown issues of your life by praying in the Spirit and receiving the TODAY download from heaven.
Pray for Jean and I as we make our transition to a new location this week.
Brother Dale, Vickie and I stand with you knowing that God is at work and perfecting ALL that concerns you and Jean in this time of transition. I know that you heard many times Pastor B.B. Hankins say, “God is never late but He misses a lot of great opportunities to be early.” I can assure you that God is on time and is already at work in EVERY part of your lives and ministry. Bountiful blessings, Billy.
Thank you Billy for the needed reminders. Blessings and prayers from Texas.
