If you’ve only got 15 seconds to read this blog post, I will summarize everything in just two sentences. It is time for you to begin to operate in the gifts of the Spirit. And the time for you to flow in these gifts is now.
Got another three minutes? I’ll break it down for you. The three minutes are essential because unfortunately, many Spirit-filled believers aren’t heeding Paul’s admonition. “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.” (I Corinthians 12:1) There is a huge lack of understanding about the gifts and you.
Let’s look at what the apostle Paul wrote about these gifts.
“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” 1 Corinthians 12:7-12
Why you? Why now? Paul tells us…
- Every believer (this includes you) is to be used by the Holy Spirit in His gifts. After all, you are included in the “every” in “given to every man”, right? Seriously, you are NOT the one exception to what Paul wrote.
- It is important for you to operate in His gifts. Your operating in these gifts is vital to the growth and empowerment (profit withal) of the Church. In other words, without you working in these gifts hand in hand with the Holy Spirit, there is a huge void in the body of Christ!
- You are qualified to operate in His gifts. These gifts aren’t subject to the approval or disapproval of those around you. The Holy Spirit divides these gifts “to every man severally as he will”. Aren’t you thankful that man can’t override what the Holy Spirit dictates?
- It’s all about Kingdom business. Specific gifts are needed for specific occasions and needs at specific times. You can’t get any more specific than that, can you? It is definitely a now time for you to be open to work for the advancement of the Kingdom.
