Hey believer, did you know that God’s miracle-working power can be demonstrated through you right now, right where you are? It’s true. At Walmart? Yes. At the laundromat? Yes. Waiting to get the oil changed on your vehicle? Yes. On your daily walk around the block? Yes. At God’s chicken restaurant (Chick-fil-A)? Yes.

Here is how I know this to be true. We see in Mark 16:17 that Jesus said this about God’s power…

“And these signs will follow those who believe…” (King James Version)

I love this translation…

“And these miracle signs will accompany those who believe…” (The Passion Translation)

Simply put, believer (that’s Y-O-U), wherever you are, it is! We can see this in the word “follow”. The Greek word for “follow” is parakolouthéō, which when translated means constantly by your side. In other words, you don’t have to go looking for God’s power, spend three days praying and fasting, or call the church prayer chain because the life-changing, situation-altering, impossibility-eradicating power is ever present, accompanying YOU wherever YOU are.

Need an example? In reading Acts 3, we see Peter and John ministering to a lame beggar. You know this story, don’t you? The power promised by Jesus just before His ascension (Acts 1:8) was readily available through Holy Spirit-filled Peter and John to provide what was needed, where it was needed, when it was needed. Where they were, it was. And the same can be said for you today as a believer. Where you are, it is.

Let me take this one step further. Knowing about the power residing within you isn’t enough. Be sensitive to needs. Be sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. The world (Walmart, laundromat, Jiffy Lube, your neighborhood, Chick-fil-A, or wherever you might be) is waiting for your “such as I have give I thee” (Acts 3:6) to be released. Go do the works of Him while it is day. (John 9:4).
