I know that the following is going to sound like the makings of a 3 AM hour-long infomercial complete with a toll-free number for you to call. You’ve been forewarned…

Hey, my friend, do you know that just three words can change your life? Better yet, three words can change the lives of those you dearly love. Oh, and for no extra charge, we want you to know that these words can change the life of a total stranger that you might encounter today.

Okay, I will stop the infomercial pitch and get straight to the point. The three life-changing words are found in Mark 16:17.

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they…” (King James Version)

I love this translation…

“And these attesting miracles will accompany those who believe these things.
In my Name they will…”
(Wuest Translation)

Do you see the three words I am referring to? Here they are – In my name. According to the verse that we just read, this “in my name” is so powerful that it brings about a “shall” and “will” to the situations of your life and the lives of those around you!

How is this possible? The apostle Paul declared that the precious, beautiful name of Jesus is above every other name. (Philippians 2:9-11) Just the mention of the name of Jesus causes things in heaven, on earth, and below the earth to bow their knee and acknowledge with their mouth that He is Lord. ALL (not some) authority, might, and dominion abides in this precious name. Heaven stands at attention and hell trembles at the mere mention of the name of Jesus.

I am sharing these three words today as a reminder that Mark 16:17 tells believers (that’s YOU) that God’s supernatural, matchless power is available to you to provide what is needed, where it is needed, when it is needed THROUGH this powerful name. Because of “In my name”, gone are the days of mealy-mouthed, namby-pamby prayers. When ministering to needs, with what I call bulldog tenacity believers can now boldly, confidently declare a name that is above every name and command and notify things above the earth, on the earth, and below the earth of a change of address as words like these come from your mouth “In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the name above every name, I command ____________ to leave your body…right here…right now. ___________, you have no right to dwell in this body any longer. Take notice that the name of Jesus is serving you this very second a cease and desist order. Now GO in Jesus’ name! Be FREE from your bondage!”

Need an example? Once again, let me refer you to Acts 3 where we find Peter and John ministering to the lame man. In this reading we see God’s power released as the words “in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth” were spoken. IMMEDIATELY the lame man became known as the formerly lame man. Hallelujah.

Really, nothing more needs to be shared. There is a sighing, crying, dying world that needs you. Go and expect the “shall” and “will” to happen as the beautiful, majestic name of Jesus is spoken to those you encounter today.
