I’ll say it loud, I’ll say it strong … I LOVE THE HOLY SPIRIT. Where did I get this deep love? I am simply reflecting the love for the Holy Spirit shown by my pastor Brother B.B. Hankins during my childhood and teenage years. Week after week, I saw his love for the Holy Spirit displayed as he worked together with Him in our services. It was the norm to see and hear from the Holy Spirit. I’m sure that you can readily see how this would impact my life.

Why am I writing this A Ministry Revolution blog series? Because I so desperately want today’s boys and girls to see this love put on display as they sit under your ministry. In this environment, they will be given the opportunity to capture your passion just as I captured B.B. Hankins’ passion. This blog series is calling for a revolution, a change in the way that we are doing children’s ministry so that we can see the promised “your” found in “sons and daughters” in Joel 2:28 and “children” in Acts 2:39 happen in this generation.

With that in mind, here is the next insight to help bring this to pass.

This insight won’t take too much explanation. But, before I share the insight, consider this powerful statement.

“If you want to know how the Spirit acts now, just read
how He did act when He had full possession of the Church.
The Book of Acts is a blueprint by which the Holy Spirit
wishes to work throughout His dispensation.”
~ F.F. Bosworth “Christ the Healer”

Quite simply, this insight is to challenge you to read the Book of Acts over and over again, follow this New Testament blueprint, and then establish what you’ve read to become the new NORM in EVERY area of your children’s ministry. I am calling for leaders to offer to their children what Brother Hankins demonstrated for me as a child/youth. I know this to be a fact. We can’t create this passion and relationship in our children if we treat the Holy Spirit as a guest who occasionally drops by for a planned, brief visit. It must the NORM for the Spirit to show His presence week after week as He powerfully speaks through you, manifests His gifts through you AND the children, and confirms the Word through signs and wonders.

The new way of ministry isn’t weird. It isn’t wacky. This new NORM is 100% NEW TESTAMENT. Anything less than what we read about in the Book of Acts must be considered ABNORMAL.

Are you getting anything out of these insights? If so, please forward these to EVERYONE working in your children’s ministry and to other children’s ministry leaders and workers in other churches.

Next week, our Ministry Revolution Insight #10 will be Announce Coming Attractions.
