Let me test your television trivia knowledge. Name this television program based upon this one sentence tagline — “your mission, should you choose to accept it…”. If this question were being asked on the Jeopardy television game show, the music would begin now, and you would grab your marker to write your answer. With the music stopped, allotted time completed, markers down, what would be your answer? Mission: Impossible. You’re absolutely correct. Sorry, unlike the television program, no cash prize, boat, or car is awarded for the correct answer.

I’ve mentioned Mission: Impossible in hopes you’ll start the theme song in your mind and imagine participating in God’s version of Mission: Impossible, or more correctly, Mission: Possible. The following is God’s voice speaking as the mission’s recording begins:

(insert your name here). Let me give a brief history before I give the actual mission. You will read in Jeremiah 1 of me speaking to a young boy, commissioning him to impact the world. After hearing my directive, Jeremiah came back with an excuse that I found to be inexcusable. He responded with a “too young” excuse. I gave this response back to Jeremiah:

“Don’t use your youth as an excuse;
you can and will go wherever I send you.
You can and will say whatever I tell you to say.”
Jeremiah 1:7 (The Voice Bible)

Jeremiah’s excuse showed his lack of understanding of the assignment’s importance. The youth didn’t know that even while in his mother’s womb, he was being strategically positioned/crafted for this assignment (Jeremiah 1:4-5). My answer eliminated the excuse, setting Jeremiah free from these mental/spiritual entrapments and enabling him to reach his destiny.

Recognize that these entrapments are not peculiar to Jeremiah alone. Every person in your sphere of influence was placed here on this earth with an assignment—I will even declare that it is a supernatural assignment. Unfortunately, the enemy has convinced each of these individuals that they are too young or too old, too unqualified, too unprepared, too ill-equipped, or too incapable to do anything great for the Kingdom.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to be my mouthpiece and eliminate the “only” and “too” chains that restrain them from stepping into their assignment. Preach, teach, and share messages that will eliminate excuses. Inform them that they are vital and have been formed and prepared for my plans and purposes. Set them free so that they, like Jeremiah, can impact their world. (This message will self-destruct in five seconds.)”
