In last week’s blog post, I shared what I called Holy Spirit Realities Nuggets. This was actually a compilation of a few of the Holy Spirit Realities posts that I have previously shared on Tuesdays on my Billy Burns Ministries Facebook page. I felt compelled to share these because of Facebook’s crazy algorithm which dictates who sees what. I am fairly confident that many of you hadn’t seen these nuggets before.

This week, I want to share another compilation of posts. Every Thursday, I share what I consider to be one of, if not the most important series of posts that I publish on Facebook … Benefits of Praying in Other Tongues. Have you seen these on my ministry page? Probably not. Though just over 800 people have liked this page which indicates that they want to read what I post, Facebook might distribute a particular post to only a few dozen people. Another post might be available for a few hundred to read.

Here is why I am sharing this compilation. The apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians that he did not want Christians to be ignorant of spiritual gifts. (1 Corinthians 12:1). In Ephesians, he instructed believers to be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18). He wrote to the Corinthian church to pray in the language of the Spirit. (1 Corinthians 14:5). He told the Corinthians to not forbid Christians from praying in other tongues. (1 Corinthians 14:39). Why? Because he recognized that are enormous benefits that come from praying in other tongues.

Below are just a few of the benefits that I have already shared on my Facebook page …

  • Benefit #1 – There is a supernatural strengthening (building up) in our inner man. (Jude 20)
  • Benefit #4 – We open the door to other spiritual gifts. (Acts 19:6)
  • Benefit #10 – We pray divine secrets. (1 Corinthians 14:2, Moffatt Translation)
  • Benefit #12 – We launch a new, fresh conversation with God. (Mark 16:17)

I’ll be extra sweet. Here are a couple of upcoming benefits …

  • Benefit #20 – We disengage from the limited mind and connect with the limitless Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 14:14)
  • Benefit #50 – We give thanksgiving “splendidly”. (1 Corinthians 14:17, Phillips Translation)

Do you like these? Want to read more? New Benefits of Praying in Other Tongues are published each Thursday at www.facebook.com/billyburnsministries. Do yourself a favor. Like the Billy Burns Ministries Facebook page so that you might possibly see (Facebook’s algorithm actually dictates who sees what) the new post each week.

Before I quit typing, let me share this final thought. There might be those reading this post that have never heard a single sermon or teaching about this subject. Let me ask that you not discard this blog post. Rather, I’m asking that you close this post, turn off your computer or smart device and ask your heavenly Father about this gift that He has promised to give every believer. (Luke 11:13; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-5; Acts 2:4, 38-39). If you have any questions, I am just an email away … [email protected].
