16 Sep Facebook Billyisms – A Compilation

Knowing that not everyone sees every post published on my Billy Burns Ministries Facebook page, I decided a few weeks ago to share some of its highlights. First, a couple of weeks ago, I shared a few of the Holy Spirit Realities posts that are on the ministry Facebook page each Tuesday. Last week, I shared a few of the Benefits of Praying in Other Tongues posts which appear each Thursday. This week, I want to share a few of the Billyisms that I have posted over the past few months.  Don't worry. The clothing of power promised by Jesus comes in your size! (Luke 24:49) Instead of saying an "Amen" when vocalizing your agreement with the preacher next Sunday, affirm what the preacher says with a "Hot Diggity Dog". I call God's anointing the "Campbell's Soup Anointing" because it is "M'm! M'm! Good!". Exponential church growth happens when God's exponential power is put on display. The Book of Acts tells of an "explanation-needed" signs and wonders Church. When the Holy Spirit showed His presence, the signs made people wonder. The Gospel is a Show & Tell message. If you think that I am being too emotional in my praise, you evidently don't know where Jesus brought me from or where I am going! Do you like these? Want to read more? New Billyisms are published each Wednesday at www.facebook.com/billyburnsministries. Do yourself a favor. Like the Billy Burns Ministries Facebook page so that you might possibly see (Facebook’s algorithm actually dictates who sees what) the new post each week. ...

09 Sep The Benefits of Praying in Other Tongues – The List

In last week's blog post, I shared what I called Holy Spirit Realities Nuggets. This was actually a compilation of a few of the Holy Spirit Realities posts that I have previously shared on Tuesdays on my Billy Burns Ministries Facebook page. I felt compelled to share these because of Facebook's crazy algorithm which dictates who sees what. I am fairly confident that many of you hadn't seen these nuggets before. This week, I want to share another compilation of posts. Every Thursday, I share what I consider to be one of, if not the most important series of posts that I publish on Facebook ...

02 Sep Holy Spirit Realities Nuggets

On my Billy Burns Ministries Facebook page, each and every Tuesday I share one bullet point about the Holy Spirit in a post titled Holy Spirit Realities. Knowing that you possibly haven't seen these teaching thoughts, I want to share just a few recent Realities nuggets with you. The Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby) is Who is needed, when He is needed, where He is needed, for what is needed. The Holy Spirit is fully aware of where you are presently and has already seen what lies ahead. (John 16:13) It is to our advantage to listen to His voice. (John 16:7) The Holy Spirit loves to share the insider secrets of heaven. (John 16:13) The language of the Holy Spirit bypasses our brain. (1 Corinthians 14:2,14) The Holy Spirit is an extrovert. He loves to make His presence known. The Holy Spirit can take those who others consider to be "unlearned and ignorant" (Acts 4:13) and change them into world changers. That should give you hope!!! The Holy Spirit is the UPS (Unlimited Power Sender) of heaven. I'll be extra sweet. Here are a couple of upcoming Realities nuggets ...

26 Aug The Holy Spirit Has Got Your Back!

At times, I wish that I could be one of those kind of preachers that constantly has what I call the "wow factor". You know what I am talking about. The "wow factor" preachers have people digging out their Bible dictionaries as they are preaching to further research the Greek and Hebrew words used in the sermon, oohing and aahing at every other sentence, and taking voluminous (pardon my feeble attempt to impress you with my vocabulary) pages of notes. Try as I may, that's just not me. In fact, after one of our Holy Spirit Rallies, I had a pastor post on Facebook that I gave one of the simplest teachings that he had ever heard about the infilling of the Holy Spirit. At first I was a little offended. Simple? Who me? Then I realized that simple is good. No one ever walks away wondering what I had preached or taught. So, I guess that I will have to leave the "wow factor" to the other preachers and settle for the "now factor" with everyone grabbing ahold of the preaching. With that in mind, let Mr. Simple (that's me) offer one of the simplest teachings (thoughts) about the person of the Holy Spirit. In the gospel of John, we find that Jesus referred four times to the Holy Spirit as the Comforter. Like you, I have studied the Greek word for Comforter and know that it is the word "Parakletos". I know that I haven't wowed you for you already know that this word simply means "One who is called to walk alongside you". You also probably know that the Amplified Bible includes Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby to the word Comforter.  Again, no oohs or aahs. Here's the simple ...
