Here is a statement that probably isn’t new to too many people. Today’s move of the Holy Spirit will be unlike anything that we have ever seen before. It’s new. It’s fresh. It’s uncharted. It’s unpredictable. It’s beyond anything that we can imagine or even fathom. It’s so revolutionary that it will cause our peanut-size brains to go tilt, tilt, tilt.

In anticipation of this move of God, let me offer some precautionary words written by one of my heroes, P.C. Nelson, taken from his book The Baptism in the Holy Spirit written back in 1942.

“Throw away your preconceived ideas, and become as a little child.
The Lord has more trouble with people’s heads than He does with their hearts.
They are too wise for Him, and He can teach them nothing till they
come back to childhood again.”
P.C. Nelson

brainOne of the greatest roadblocks to this move of God won’t be the enemy Satan. It will be that massive conglomeration of cells between our ears, our brain. Our fear of the unknown or our desire for our previous experiences to dictate and control the future will shut down this move of God faster than we can spell the word “Mississippi” in Pig Latin.

It’s a new day with new opportunities. For us to participate in these new opportunities, there is a challenge coming from the Holy Spirit to cast aside our preconceived ideas and, like a little child, trust our Father. With child-like faith, grab ahold of His hand and allow our Father to lead us into an outpouring of His Spirit unlike anything that we’ve ever seen in this dispensation of the Holy Spirit.
